Liverpool’s pre-season friendly victory over Real Betis on Friday night was somewhat overshadowed by Curtis Jones’ injury, which led to his early exit after just 30 minutes. His departure allowed Trey Nyoni to shine in Pittsburgh.
The good news for Liverpool fans is that, despite Arne Slot being somewhat reserved about the 23-year-old’s issue, the injury was deemed precautionary, and there is optimism that Jones will still participate in the U.S. tour.
When asked about the severity of the issue, the head coach told liverpoolfc.com: “It’s too early to determine. He might have been able to continue, but it was evident he wasn’t at full fitness.”
