Barcelona is said to have had talks with the agents of RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo. Spanish source Jijantes reports that discussions took place on Wednesday, with Olmo’s father attending the afternoon meeting.
Olmo seems ready for a new challenge after more than four years with Leipzig. Although he has not played as often this season, starting just 14 of 29 Bundesliga matches, he has remained effective, with four goals and five assists to his name.
As an experienced Spain international, Olmo has the skill to thrive at Barcelona. His potential addition would provide valuable competition for players such as Pedri and Ferran Torres. Additionally, he could be a possible replacement for Joao Felix, who is expected to return to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Reports indicate that Olmo has an active release clause of €60 million, a sum that Barcelona could afford with potential player sales. Premier League clubs are also interested in him, with Manchester City recently discussing him with his representatives, alongside their reported interest in Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala. Manchester United is also linked with Olmo, although their current priority appears to be bolstering their defense.
