Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has expressed high praise for Robert Lewandowski upon reuniting with the striker in Catalunya. Lewandowski returned to Barcelona on Monday for pre-season training following his performance with Poland at Euro 2024.
Flick, who previously enjoyed a successful partnership with Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, is eager to replicate their success at Barcelona. The German manager highlighted the veteran striker’s exceptional talent:
“Robert inside the area is incredible. He has something that I have missed these days in training; he has the goal in his blood. He doesn’t need many chances to score goals. Now we need many chances to score in training, but he doesn’t need that,” Flick told Barca One.
Flick emphasized the importance of close relationships with players to ensure their confidence and peak performance. He is keen on fostering a connection between veteran players and youngsters to aid their development.
Lewandowski, who won the Pichichi in his first season at Barcelona, remains the club’s top scorer despite a slightly less prolific second season. He boasts an impressive record of 59 goals and 17 assists in 95 appearances for Barcelona.
